Antihydral Cream

Antihydral is an ointment paste containing the active ingredient methenamine in a non-greasy, drying ointment base. It has been successfully used for decades as an antiperspirant for weeping foot skin—particularly between the toes—but also for hand and underarm sweat. Antihydral dries up as excessive sweat is secreted. It does not suppress sweat secretion but normalizes it. It contains no soluble aluminum salts.

On the feet, Antihydral should be applied thinly just once daily and initially only on two days per week (preferably overnight with gloves or socks), as the individual drying effect begins after 1-2 weeks.

To prevent the skin from becoming too dry and thus turning the hardened, dry outer skin yellowish from too frequent use, moisturizing creams can additionally be applied. Antihydral cream and its active ingredient, methenamine, are expelled through the dried leather skin.

Apply sparingly—for example, especially with hand and underarm sweat—apply thinly and sparingly (2-3 nights), wait for the individual drying effect, and then reapply only after waiting. Do not apply on the face or chest!

The safety and harmlessness of the product were tested in the Ames test and confirmed no mutagenicity (Leuschner et al., 2013).
